The "CH" Series, 1/2 through 5 horsepower, condensing units offer convenience stores, restaurants, fast food outlets, schools, and hospitals the economics of low initial cost and energy-efficient operation. The units feature a high efficiency aluminum fin, copper tube condenser and accessible semi-hermetic and hermetic compressors. Also, each unit features a compressor contactor, high and low pressure controls, and a receiver with a fusible plug, liquid shut-off valve, charging port, and a weather-resistant cabinet. The 1/2 to 5 horsepower unit is available in indoor and outdoor models. The outdoor unit also includes base leg brackets and a crankcase heater. Outdoor units utilize a standard 180 pound flooding head pressure valve. UL listed, UL listed for Canada.

Using a condensing unit like the one pictured on the left is beneficial for many reasons. It is an oversized condenser, and it allows refrigerated units maintain a temperature of 35 degrees (or less) in an environment that is up to 120 degrees (all degrees are measured on the Fahrenheit scale), and the unit's piping is laid out to minimize stress and vibration. A complete line of compressors is available, including Copeland's Glacier refrigeration Scrolls. There is a lot of room for options, including the accessible replaceable core liquid and suction line filters. The unit's sight glass can be viewed easily from the front. It is easy to verify whether or not the unit is leak free by checking the Schrader valve outside the unit for a nitrogen holding charge. There is a variable speed motor option on the 30" high cabinets that uses the Hoffman controller instead of the head pressure control valve. This enables the unit to work down to 20 degrees ambient on medium temperature units. There is also an access valve on the outside of the cabinet for easy connections.

Outdoor condensing units are ready to install! Each unit is put into a vacuum and subjected to a rigorous leak test in a helium environment. This method is considerably more effective than using a handheld leak detector. Electrical circuits are completely checked for continuity, and each unit is test-run and allowed to cycle off on both high and low pressure control. A test-run certificate is shipped with each unit to verify that the test has been completed.
